In good faith and as a community of interests among neighbors, we define the following key points of understanding and collaboration:
-
Communication network among landowners for the monitoring of protected areas. This network helps to define timely actions in case of environmental damage and if necessary to defend our rights and interests. Landowners sign a declaration to commit to AsoGuaBo’s conservation objective. The Association develops maps of the conservation regions and uses GIS Mapping methodology for this purpose.
-
Environmental education: With the motto ’teaching to care for the environment is teaching to value life,’ AsoGuaBo wants to be an active actor in the region’s educational system. A program will be developed for children with the creation of an Environmental Club. Within this same initiative, support is provided for the printing of the childrens book “An Ancestral Journey.”
-
Nursery: To support reforestation and regeneration projects in protected areas, AsoGuaBo established the Circular Nursery. The nursery has endemic trees and medicinal and native plants. Once a month, AsoGuaBo organizes a communal effort for the maintenance and improvement of the nursery.
-
Events and guided forest walks: AsoGuaBo, in coordination with some landowners, will organize informative walks to explore the richness of primary and secondary forests, explaining the importance of environmental protection. Also will promote cultural and educational events dedicated to raising awareness in the community about nature conservation and disseminating the work of AsoGuaBo.
-
Communication strategy: AsoGuaBo designs communicative products for environmental awareness in the local community and to foster regenerative, ecological, and social development that promotes the well-being of both ecosystems and inhabitants. In this context, public activities are organized.
