We are owners of the protected areas and members of the Guardians of the Punta Uva-Cocles-Paraíso Forest Association (AsoGuaBo). The protected areas include Baja Talamanca, particularly in the biological corridor between the Jairo Mora Sandoval Gandoca-Manzanillo Mixed National Wildlife Refuge (REGAMA) and the KeköLdi Indigenous Territory, an essential link to maintain biological connectivity between the South Caribbean and Alta Talamanca.

Our community of interests is called “The Guardians of the Forest”. It includes registered and legitimate owners of forested areas, primary and secondary forests, and/or areas to be restored in the zone defined above. It also involves members of AsoGuaBo who support with information, environmental education, mapping and monitoring, and/or coordination of conservation and regeneration programs. In order to affirm and expand our biological corridor, we also include owners of the Gandoca Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge. For now, individuals who are not owners in the defined area or do not have areas to integrate but wish to actively cooperate with our initiative are invited to sign the “support list” and/or join AsoGuaBo.
